If you enjoy camping with a view of the Mighty Mississippi river, Thomson Causeway Recreational Area along the Big River Corridor is a “must see”. With 76 electric and 5 tent campsites, the park is just right for any camping experience. The park is located in the same spot that the Woodland Indians inhabited, from 500AD to 800AD. There is information about those first inhabitants along the walking path near the edge of the great Mississippi river inside the park, along with an example of a burial mound constructed nearly 1500 years ago for the Woodland Indians’ ancestors.
